Components removed and replaced:
Preparation: Our Singapore-based engineering teams spent more than three months preparing project documentation and integrating schedules with the refinery’s turnaround plan. This included engineering assessments and coordination across multiple contractor interfaces.
We conducted mock-up tests for the most demanding cuts – two hydro-abrasive and two diamond wire. All four validated our approach and equipment setup before mobilisation.
Execution: The work took place over 8 days across 16 shifts. We executed 20 diamond wire cuts and 13 hydro-abrasive cuts, selecting the appropriate method for each component based on its specific requirements. Two sets of equipment for each cutting method enabled continuous day-and-night operations. The timeline demanded precise coordination between our crews, the client’s team, and other contractors working in adjacent areas.

The thoroughness in planning and execution showed in the results, with the client noting: “We have never had a contractor doing it so fast with high-quality cuts, clean and straight precision cuts with minimal material loss.”
The project was delivered on schedule with no safety incidents across 16 shifts of high-precision work in a live refinery environment.
