A refinery in SE Asia had several air-cooled heat exchangers that required maintenance due to reduced cooling capacity.  Online monitoring showed that fouling on the external finned tube surfaces of 14 banks of forced draft fin fans was the main issue.  Damage to the finned tubes had to be prevented and the client was keen to extend the interval between cleaning campaigns to more than the 6 months achieved previously with chemical foam.
