CR3 has recently completed a catalyst change-out project for one of the world’s leading producers of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel.

The CR3 catalyst handling teams worked in rotation to complete the change-outs on a 3-bed Hydrotreater and a 2-bed isomerisation reactor at the client’s refinery in Singapore. The Hydrotreater was unloaded under inert conditions and reloaded under atmospheric conditions. The Isomerisation Reactor was both unloaded and reloaded under Inert conditions. In total, over 420 tons of catalyst was removed.

The project was expedited thanks to CR3’s fleet of high-powered industrial vacuum units and the efficiency of our catalyst handling processes, which enabled us to complete the work well within the given timeframe and budget.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel is a clean-burning biofuel specifically designed for powering aircraft. It possesses properties similar to traditional jet fuel but has the distinct advantage of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from air travel by up to 80% compared to fossil fuels.

As we continue our commitment to a sustainable future, CR3 actively supports Sustainable Aviation Fuel projects and other green fuel initiatives across Asia and the Middle East.
