CR3 recently provided Confined Spaces Safety training to 66 firefighters.

Confined spaces generally feature restricted entry or exit points and are not designed for prolonged worker occupancy. Confined spaces might also pose risks due to hazardous atmospheres or low oxygen levels. Some examples of confined spaces include silos, vessels, tanks, tunnels and pipelines.

The one-day course began with a theory session in the morning, which covered topics such as safety regulations and standards, hazard recognition, atmospheric monitoring and personal protective equipment.

The afternoon session took place at the CR3 outdoor training centre and allowed the teams to take part in several real-life scenarios that can occur in confined spaces. The course was a great success and an excellent opportunity for knowledge sharing on incident prevention.
