CR3 India (CRAI) completed a Turnaround project during April and May 2019 at ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd, Asia’s largest producer of paraxylene and xylene. Despite it being an extremely busy period for the business, with multiple jobs being coordinated at the same time, CRAI successfully completed the project well ahead of the planned schedule.
The scope covered all major equipment including vessels, drums, reactors, columns and heat exchangers of all types. Additional scopes were identified during the execution phase, which were scheduled and completed alongside the pre-determined jobs. Such work included a benzene column overhaul, CCR scallop repair/replacement and other general maintenance tasks.
The entire project was completed five (5) full days ahead of schedule. Overall, the project was well planned, well managed and a huge success and the client immensely appreciated being able to re-start their plant earlier than expected.
